The Braes Drummer is one of the first foals by the top campdrafting sire “Musicman” and was bred by Steve and Patty Campbell of Manilla.
When Steve first rode Drummer as a two year old he believed the horse to have exceptional balance and talent.
Drummer has been a champion working and ridden stock horse at National level.
He was loved by thousands of people who were amazed at his role as the “The Colt From Old Regret” in “The Man From Snowy River Arena Spectacular” which travelled around Australia in 2002. Drummer really loved the role and got better as the show went on, adding his own touches of excitement. He even did a “pee” in almost every show, without fail, much to the delight of the adoring crowd.
Drummer is very good at being ridden without a bridle (in fact he prefers this to having a bit in his mouth!) and Steve has used him at the International Science Conference, Equitana, clinics and many other occasions to demonstrate how responsive a horse can become.
He is truly an exceptional horse and partner.
“After appearing in the Opera ‘Carmen’ at the Sydney Opera house, Drummer wanted to learn to sing. First we started with lip exercises, then he was off and running in his own rendition of the ‘Toreador Song”
